Fraser made Vale captain

Port Vale youngster Tommy Fraser has been made captain for the new season by manager Micky Adams.

The 21-year-old, a summer signing from Brighton, replaces Sam Stockley in the role and he describes it as a positive move in his career.

"Being a captain at the age of 21 at a big club like Port Vale is a great achievement.

"As far as I'm concerned it's just an armband, though, because we've still got some great characters at the club and nothing in that sense will change.

"It's a nice confidence boost to know you're wanted at a club and that people appreciate you."
