Port Vale boss Martin Foyle has agreed a deal to bring Clayton Fortune back to the club for a third loan spell.
The 24-year-old returned to Leyton Orient earlier this month after spending a successful second period on loan at Vale Park.
Foyle told the club's official website: "It was a sticky situation. I couldn't really get involved in it.
"I tried to do a deal with Clayton prior to him going back, but Orient wouldn't deal with anything.
"Martin Ling -who is a very good friend of mine - rang me and said we could take him until the end of the season.
"We play better with Clayton in the side and these are decisions we've got to make, so he's here for the next three months and hopefully we can get a settled side and go and push on."
The former Bristol City defender made 25 appearances for Vale during a six-month loan spell with Vale last term, and played in another six games for the club earlier this season.
