Constantine takes the prize

In-form Port Vale striker Leon Constantine has been named as August's Player of the Month in League One.

The 28-year-old frontman has netted six goals in seven games this season, including doubles against both Leyton Orient and Chesterfield.

Chairman of the awards panel, Chris Kamara, said: "Leon Constantine has really been among the goals in the early weeks of the season.

"He's produced some terrific displays and his stature and pace have caused real problems for the teams he has come up against.

"I'm sure (manager) Martin Foyle will be hoping for more of the same from Leon in the coming months."
