Port Vale trialist Chris Brandon is hoping he can win a contract with the League Two side ahead of the new campaign.
The 34-year-old was released by Bradford City at the end of his contract and is now looking to impress Vale boss Micky Adams.
He has already featured in the pre-season friendlies against Harborough Town and Biddulph Vics and it appears as though he has done his chances no harm.
Speaking to the Sentinel, he said: "If a deal comes along I'll obviously look at it. I came into the game at 23, so I've got plenty of years left in me.
"I'm 34, but I've still got the hunger and feel I can do a good job for somebody, given the chance. But I'm taking each day as it comes and I'll see what happens."
