Bids received for Richards

Interest in Port Vale striker Marc Richards has now turned into firm bids, chairman Bill Bratt has confirmed.

"Three clubs have shown an interest in Marc. One of the three, Cheltenham Town, have made an offer, but that hasn't transpired any further at the moment," Bratt told the club's official website.

The club are likely to try and hold on to Richards, who began to impress alongside fellow forward Luke Rodgers last season as Vale were relegated from League One.

The 26-year-old scored five goals despite starting only 19 games in an injury-hit 2007-08 season.

"He;s a Port Vale player and we want him to stay," manager Lee Sinnott confirmed, before adding: "We'll have to wait and see over the next few days."
