Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott is relieved to have finally completed the signing of the former Leicester City forward Louis Dodds.
The 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Lincoln City, has penned a two-year contract with the Valiants.
Sinnott told the club's official website: "It's no secret we've been trying to sign Louis for a while now.
"We're looking in the midfield area and in the defensive area as well to strengthen the squad as it stands at the moment.
"I think if the supporters are looking for a player to relate to, Louis can operate up front and he can operate in midfield too.
"We explained what we want to achieve and how we want to do it, and Louis wants to be a part of that."
