Adams worried by injured duo
30 Jul 2009 - 14:06:31
Port Vale manager Micky Adams is worried that Tommy Fraser and Marc Richards may not be fully fit for the start of the new season.
Fraser, who recently arrived from Brighton, has strained his ankle ligaments, while Richards suffered a heavy knock on his hip in the pre-season friendly at Stafford Rangers on July 25.
Although the injuries are not serious, they both face a race against time to be fit for their opening game at home to Rochdale a week Saturday.
Speaking to The Sentinel, he said: "I'm confident Marc will be fit, but not so confident about Tommy, who has had a lot less football.
"But Tommy's rehabilitation is going well, and we just need his ankle to settle down.
"He is an important part of the midfield, so it would be disappointing if he wasn't fit."
