Adams relishing derby test

Micky Adams is determined not to let down what is expected to be a large contingent of travelling Port Vale fans for Saturday`s Staffordshire derby at Burton.Vale travel to the Pirelli Stadium having experienced both derby joy and despair on their travels already this season - losing 2-0 at Macclesfield while winning 1-0 at Shrewsbury and 2-1 at Crewe.And with almost 2,000 Vale fans set to make the 34-mile trip to Burton, Adams is equally aware of what victory and defeat would mean this time around."We have a Staffordshire derby on Saturday and we are looking forward to it," he told the club`s official website."We had a large following at Macclesfield early on in the season, and we can look back on that one and say that if we don`t apply ourselves correctly then we will get our backsides kicked again like we did there."But the lads have responded better since then, particularly at Shrewsbury and Crewe, which was also a local derby."
