Adams puts squad up for sale

Port Vale manager Micky Adams has taken drastic action following Saturday's 3-1 reversal at Notts County by making his entire squad available for transfer.

He was bitterly disappointed that the three goals conceded came from a corner, a free-kick and a penalty and believes there is a lack of desire in his team.

Speaking to reporters, Adams said: "The squad will be transfer-listed. I've told them all already. We'll see how good they are. They're lucky - they've a fantastic profession and I don't think they've given it their all.

"It's not a personal thing. I can sit back and accept what's gone on and give as many excuses as you want me to, but it's papering over the cracks."

Meanwhile, Adams has snapped up Jason Jarrett on a short-term contract until December 28.

The 30-year-old left Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of last season and is expected to go straight into the squad for Tuesday's game against Accrington Stanley at Vale Park.
