Adams makes ruthless choice

Port Vale manager Micky Adams has stamped his authority on the club by making six players available for transfer or loan. Ross Davidson will join Stafford Rangers on loan while Danny Edwards, Danny Glover, David Howland, Luke Prosser and Steve Thompson have all been told they can all move on. Speaking to the club's official website, Adams said: "I want to free up some funds to bring in some of my own players. "I think the squad's lacking in certain areas and, I don't want to sound disrespectful to the players we have here, but I've given everybody a go in pre-season and these players, at this moment in time, are surplus to my requirements."
