Lawrie Wilson's strike gave Stevenage a 1-0 victory over fellow promotion-chasers Port Vale. Wilson found the bottom right-hand corner with 18 minutes to go and could have ended Vale's hopes of breaking into the top six. The win gives Stevenage a great chance of making the jump to League One.with just two matches remaining. The home side could have won by more and John Mousinho, Michael Bostwick and Byron Harrison all wasted good chances. Vale had their own chances with Robert Taylor and Marc Richards both shooting wide, while substitute Sam Morsy rifled wide with seven minutes remaining.
