We will hit back - Adams

Boss Micky Adams has backed Port Vale to bounce back after watching his side waste a hatful of chances in the home defeat to Chesterfield. First-half goals by Aaron Downes and Dominic Green put the Spireites in the driving seat, but Vale dominated after the break and created enough opportunities to earn a point after Craig Davies' goal soon after the restart. "We've lost back-to-back games and that hasn't happened very often this season. The players are very disappointed but we will encourage them and I'm sure they have the character to bounce back," said Adams. "We battered them in the second-half and should have got something out of the game, but we have paid the price for a slow start and then not taking our chances. "I'm not going to criticise my players because they are an honest bunch, but what we have to do is learn our lessons and continue to improve. "Craig Davies did miss chances, but so did other players and, as I said, we should have left the field with at least a point."
