Vale waiting on Collins

Port Vale will assess Lee Collins ahead of the visit of Wycombe but are hopeful the defender will be passed fit. Collins missed last weekend`s goalless draw at Northampton and Tuesday`s 4-0 FA Cup replay triumph over Dartford due to shin splints but, having rested from training all week, stands a good chance of being ready. Midfielder Anthony Griffith was still struggling slightly with the effects of a shin injury of his own sustained against the Cobblers and so was an unused substitute in midweek, but he should now be fine. Manager Micky Adams has a couple of selection dilemmas for the game as Vale look for what would be only their second league win in eight attempts. Justin Richards returned to partner Marc Richards in attack against Dartford having been dropped and duly bagged his first goal in 14 games. Winger Rob Taylor also came in for his first start for a month after hamstring trouble, replacing Lewis Haldane.
