Vale quiet on management duo

Port Vale boss Jim Gannon and his assistant Geoff Horsfield have both called in the League Managers' Association and the Professional Football Association to represent them following their highly publicised disagreement on the team coach last Friday. Gannon and Horsfield were involved in an argument on the way to Aldershot which resulted in the Vale boss getting off the bus at a service station and returning to Vale Park for talks with chairman Bill Bratt, with Horsfield dropped off later in the journey. Vale issued a statement on Monday insisting the matter will be dealt with internally as they prepare to hear both sides of the story. The statement on the club's official website read: "The situation concerning the Port Vale manager, Jim Gannon, and his assistant, Geoff Horsfield, is being dealt with internally. "Both parties are entitled to, and indeed have asked for, representation from the LMA and the PFA. "There is a procedure to follow and there will be no further statement until all concerned have been able to have their say and the matter has been dealt with satisfactorily."
