Vale pair fighting fit

Port Vale duo Stuart Tomlinson and Lewis Haldane are expected to be fit for the visit of struggling Macclesfield. Goalkeeper Tomlinson was recalled for last weekend`s 2-1 victory at Aldershot but was forced off due to a recurring hip injury in the 69th minute, moments after causing and then saving a penalty. Forward Haldane was a doubt going into the clash due to an ankle problem but passed a fitness test only to take a knock to the area, forcing him off at half-time. However both should be in contention as Vale look to claim back-to-back wins for the first time since November. Midfielder Gary Roberts, who contrary to reports has not been granted permission to leave on loan, serves the third and final match of his suspension, while centre-back Gareth Owen (ankle) is not yet thought to be ready to return. Fit-again skipper Marc Richards started his first match since early January against the Shots and will do so again, likely partnered by Tom Pope after he extended his loan stay from Rotherham.
