Vale investment talks moving quickly

The firm, who already sponsor the club's shirts, have been in discussions with the Vale hierarchy since March in regard to a potential £500,000 investment - which would bring with it representation on the board. And Harlequin chairman Dave Ames has revealed the deal could finally be agreed this week as the two sides come together for more talks. Ames told The Sentinel: "We are very close and hopefully we will be in a position to sort something out. We are already helping to support the first team by giving extra funding for loan signings. "I don't want to get involved with the running of the side. I'm interested in investing in the club - I don't want to be the boss or take it over. We need the sort of plan that fits in with the club and with everybody involved." As it stands, the club's current majority stakeholder is pop star and Vale fan Robbie Williams.
