Vale draw line over managerial bust-up

Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt has revealed that the bust-up between manager Jim Gannon and assistant Geoff Horsfield has been dealt with internally in an amicable manner and the duo will continue to fulfil the same roles for the football club. Gannon and Horsfield were involved in an argument on the way to Aldershot on February 25, which led to both men leaving the team coach. Horsfield, whose contract expires in the summer, had stayed away from the club until this week, leaving Gannon in sole control for four League Two matches. However, Bratt told The Sentinel: "The matter has been dealt with internally and both Jim and Geoff are back working at the club in their same roles. "Everybody has been co-operative with the investigation and I believe we have handled the situation in the proper manner. It has all been sorted amicably. "Hopefully we can now move forward together in harmony and secure promotion."
