Vale denied Johnson extension

MK Dons have prevented Port Vale from extending Jemal Johnson`s loan stay in Staffordshire, with the winger returning to stadiummk after a month hampered by injury. The former Wolves and Blackburn man managed two starts and four substitute appearances for the League Two outfit, with Micky Adams keen to strike a deal going into a second month. However, the Dons have recalled Johnson in a bid to bolster their attack following a run of one win in seven, leaving Adams considering his options ahead of the club`s trip to Cheltenham on Saturday. Vale assistant manager Geoff Horsfield revealed his disappointment that Johnson could not have made more of an impact due to his injuries. "He started against Hereford, waited for his chance, trained really hard, got a knock and had to come off at half-time," Horsfield told BBC Radio Stoke. "He's been unfortunate, and again, I don't think he was fully fit against Gillingham on Saturday."
