Vale confirm interest from US

Port Vale have confirmed they will meet with potential American investors on Friday. Vale`s board of directors have made no secret of their desire to explore external funding in a bid to take the npower League Two club forward. Only back in August, after much deliberation they eventually rejected Mike Newton`s well-documented investment offer of around £500,000 which included a bid to replace chairman Bill Bratt. But another avenue has now opened and Vale`s eight-man board will listen to what the US party have to say later this week, with little details currently known about the interested investors. A statement on the official website read: "Port Vale Football Club can confirm that directors will be meeting with potential investors from the United States of America on Friday, as reported in some sections of the media. "As these talks are at a very preliminary stage, it would be inappropriate for the club to comment further at this time."
