Vale chairman open to Glovers stay

Former assistant Glover was handed the reins at Vale Park until the end of the season after Lee Sinnott's departure back in September. But Bratt and the rest of the club's board last week revealed they will be appointing a new manager to take the club into next season. It was initially suggested Glover would not be offered the role of assistant to the new man in charge and would only be instilled at youth-team level. However, that does not seem to be the case and with a year still remaining on his contract as assistant - a deal which remained in place even when he was appointed as manager - Glover's future looks to be at a crossroads. Bratt told The Sentinel: "All options are viable. Dean has still got the assistant's contract and it would be dependent on what the new manager wants to do. "Personally, I don't think he would want to stay on as assistant, but that's up to him. That hasn't been discussed with Dean. He wants to take time to think about his options. But we would like to keep Dean at the club because he is Vale through and through. He's a decent man and those people are in short supply."
