Vale boss has scope to strengthen

The club's transfer budget was exhausted earlier this summer without Vale fans really seeing an influx of new faces. But funds seem to have been freed up for Adams to add to his squad, highlighted by the deal that was offered to Claus Jorgensen two weeks ago. Trialist striker Wayne Gray and midfielder Jason Jarrett will feature for the reserves against Macclesfield on Wednesday night, while Adams has also stressed his desire for defensive reinforcements. And he told The Sentinel: "I've said we will try to boost our options all over the pitch if we can. We're playing three up front at the moment so you can't have enough options. "But I can't make anybody an offer until I've seen them play. We will look to strengthen the squad with the right players." Striker Danny Glover and midfielder Dave Howland may also get a run out for the second string against the Silkmen despite being on the transfer list.
