Vale boss frustrated in loan moves
Adams had been speaking to the unnamed targets but revealed the pair have rejected the offer of a temporary switch, although he is still on the lookout for bodies to strengthen his squad.
"The two people we have actively pursued have rejected a move to Vale, but we move on," he told The Sentinel. "They are playing at a higher level than League Two and didn't want to move.
"We never start from scratch, though, and I have watched more games this week."
Meanwhile, Vale's reserves held a strong Derby outfit to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night, with Rob Taylor heading the opener after just six minutes.
