Vale begin tour well
Port Vale claimed a 2-0 victory over Athlone Town on Tuesday night in what was the club`s first match on their tour of Ireland.
Marc Richards` first-half brace, a header followed up with a 12-yard strike, helped an impressive Vale outfit taste success over a side who came into the encounter on the back of a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.
Vale are back in action on Thursday night when they take on Mervue United.
