Vale announce pre-season tour
Port Vale have announced they will tour North America next summer as part of their pre-season preparations.
The promotion-chasing Valiants, who will be hoping for a campaign in npower League One in 2011/12, will fly out to Seattle on July 12 for their first match against North Sound Sea Wolves three days later.
They will then play Tacoma Tide (July 17) and Kitsap Pumas (July 19) - both of which will also take place in Seattle - before heading to Vancouver to face Victoria Highlanders (July 21) and returning home from Canada on July 22.
Vale have also revealed they will tour California in 2012 and Florida in 2013.
The trips represent a great opportunity to build overseas relationships and possibly set up long-term partnerships for the Burslem outfit, who recently held investment talks with a US consortium - although there is no evidence that has any relation to this announcement.
