Port Vale have issued letters to their shareholders detailing an extraordinary general meeting which will now be held following a request by supporters' group North London Valiants. The crucial meeting, which is reported to be going ahead on June 1, comes in the wake of increased pressure from disgruntled Vale fans to oust the current board. The EGM has been called after North London Valiants won more than enough shareholder support passing a rule which requests the meeting take place. Shareholders will be able to vote on the removal of the club's current board and the rule which states no individual can own more than 24.9% of the club`s shares. Depending on the swing of votes, businessman Mo Chaudry could then be cleared to complete his planned takeover of the League Two club. Polling is understood to begin at 10.30am at Vale Park.
