Taylor poised for Vale comeback

The left-back had expected to recover from a thigh strain in time for last weekend's impressive 4-0 romp over Grimsby but missed out and has not returned to full training until this week. But he is now raring to go and will be competing to regain his starting berth at the EBB Stadium. Adams told the club's official website: "Kris isn't guaranteed to go straight back into the starting XI because I have also been impressed with how well Damien McCrory has done since he came in, so it's a nice dilemma to have." Taylor is the only addition to a Valiants squad that will be the same as the one that brushed aside the Mariners last weekend. Striker James Lawrie (appendix) and goalkeeper Joe Anyon (broken leg) continue to watch on from the stands, while recent loan signing Lewis Haldane will be looking to get more game time but is likely to start from the bench.
