Taylor fears Vale exit

Port Vale left-back Kris Taylor admits he is unsure about his future at the club. The 27-year-old is among a number of players, including vice-captain Gareth Owen and midfielder Gareth Roberts, whose current deals expire at the end of the season. Taylor told The Sentinel: "I've had no indication over a new contract yet. I want to stay, and it's something I need to look at in terms of whether it's going to happen sooner rather than later. Every player who is coming to the end of their contract would be lying if they said they weren't thinking about what will happen. "If the manager doesn't fancy you, come June 1 you could be one of many players who are out of work and with nowhere to go. That's the way football is in the lower divisions. "I don't want to go because I enjoy it at Vale and feel settled here. We have a great set of lads here and I want to be part of the manager's plans. "I'm not going to say whether I'm confident or not over earning a new contract at the club. You never know what will happen, which makes it a difficult position."
