Sutton to bide his time

New Port Vale signing Richie Sutton is willing to wait for the opportunity to make an impact at Vale Park. The lifelong Vale fan, 24, completed his dream move from Nantwich on July 19, signing a six-month deal. However, manager Micky Adams has warned the defender to expect a difficult challenge in earning an extended stay. "We have great defenders and the manager has made me aware we didn't concede many goals last season, so getting into the team is going to be a tough task," Sutton admitted in the Sentinel. "We have defenders who are very experienced so they will start the season, but hopefully I can show the gaffer I can perform to a similar standard. "I've always been confident in my ability and it's just about getting the opportunity, which is why I'm over the moon to be here."
