Sutton keen to extend Vale stay

Port Vale defender Ritchie Sutton insists he has not given up hope of being offered a new contract beyond the end of the current campaign. The 25-year-old, who started his career at Crewe, resurrected his professional career in the summer when he signed from Nantwich Town but has only made 12 appearances in all competitions, and is yet to start talks regarding a new deal. Sutton told the Stoke Sentinel: "I'm obviously looking to stay at Vale because it's the club I support, I'm settled and I enjoy being here. "I recently took on an agent, but I've told him I want to stay at Vale, so I'll wait for the club to make a decision. "A few non-league clubs have shown an interest in me, but staying in the Football League is my primary objective. "After getting another opportunity in professional football I don't want to throw it away."
