Stockley wants Vale to keep faith

Glover's card has been marked by some Vale fans from the moment he took charge back in October, with the club's poor form on the pitch and protests off it increasing the pressure on his position at the helm. Slow season ticket sales for next season have not helped matters, but club captain Stockley has faith in the in Glover and his assistant Keith Downing and insists further change will not help Vale turn things around. "There needs to be stability at this football club, and the gaffer and Keith Downing need that as well," said Stockley in The Sentinel, as Vale discuss an investment proposal with Harlequin Property. "Stability comes from higher up. I don't know the ins and outs of what's going on and it's not my place to comment on it, but Dean and Keith can provide stability. They understand each other, they work very well together and the training sessions they put on are very constructive. "This is a massive football club and it needs to be dragged out of where it is and pushed forward. I believe Deano and Keith are the people who can do that."
