Port Vale midfielder Doug Loft has undergone a scan on a knee injury sustained during Saturday`s 1-1 draw with Southend.
The Valiants are nervously awaiting the results to discover whether Loft will play any part in the club`s play-off charge over the remaining five matches of the League Two season.
Assistant manager Geoff Horsfield told the club`s official website: "Loft took a kick on Saturday while his foot was planted on the floor, so he has felt something in his knee.
"It has settled down a little bit and he says it is less tender than it was at the weekend, but we will have a scan today (Monday), see how it is and take it from there.
"It doesn`t look good but we will just have to see what the scan says as there might be problems in there, but we will just have to wait and see."
