Richards: We can stand the heat

Port Vale striker Marc Richards believes his team now has the experience to handle the pressure of being top of League Two. Vale initially reached the summit in September during a five match winning run but then recorded a sequence of one victory in four games. That caused them to relinquish top spot before they regained it following last Tuesday's 5-0 thrashing of Stockport. Richards, who has netted 10 league goals for Micky Adams' side so far this season, told the Sentinel: "It was nice being top earlier in the season, but it was definitely a learning curve because there was a lot of pressure on us to keep winning. "Although we weren't losing games, we weren't picking up maximum points, but now we're nine games further on we should handle the pressure better. The style of football we're playing at the moment also proves how confident we are."
