Prosser poised to put pen-to-paper

Having risen through the club's ranks, the 20-year-old centre-back developed remarkably this season to make 28 appearances for Vale. Prosser's progress has attracted plenty of attention from rival clubs along the way but, although he admits he could probably be offered a better deal by another club, he wants to prove his worth at Vale Park and become a firm fixture in the new manager's plans. He is yet to officially put pen to paper but Prosser admits he will not have to think too much about it. He told The Sentinel: "I haven't even seen the terms yet because I'm at home, but hopefully I will sign the contract. I thought I did well enough last season and I have always got on well with the chairman Bill Bratt who would pat me on the back when I played well. "Other clubs probably could offer me a better deal, but I get on well with the boys at Vale. We have a lot of potential and I want to be part of it next season. I want to be playing games because there is no use me going to another club if I'm just going to be sitting on the bench."
