Prosser keen to stay at Vale Park

The 20-year-old defender is out of contract at the end of the season having penned a one-year deal last summer, and a number of clubs including Rochdale and Walsall are understood to be interested. Manager Dean Glover is still not sure of the budget available to him for next season and so can offer no hint as to what the future holds. But Prosser, who is enjoying an extended run in Vale's first-team due to Gareth Owen's injury, would be keen to pen a new contract. "With 10 games left, I want to play as well as I can. Fingers crossed I can do well enough to get offered a new contract. I have heard that a few clubs are interested in me, but at the moment I really want to stay here and do well for Port Vale," he told The Sentinel. Glover added: "At the moment we are trying to improve results and build for next season. While the results are indifferent, it's frustrating because we need to know what the budget for next season will definitely be."
