Burge blow for Vale Ryan Burge has dealt Port Vale an injury blow ahead of the visit of Wycombe. Burge damaged knee ligaments during the 3-0 home win over Oxford on Monday night and will be unavailable for at least a couple of weeks. His absence leaves Vale boss Micky Adams short of central midfield options with captain Doug Loft (calf) also injured, Sam Morsy suspended and Darren Murphy short of match practice. It means Adams may be forced to turn to rookie Kingsley James, or move the likes of defender Richard Duffy or striker Louis Dodds into the centre of the park. Vale, beaten only once in their last dozen matches in all competitions, have made their best start to a season since the 1953/54 campaign. Matt McClure could provide a timely boost for Wycombe caretaker boss Gareth Ainsworth ahead of the trip. The striker has missed the last two matches after suffering a hamstring injury in the win over Torquay. But McClure resumed full training with the Wanderers on Thursday and could go straight back into Ainsworth's starting XI. Meanwhile, Ainsworth insisted midfielder Matt Bloomfield won't be rushed in his recovery from a problematic groin injury. "It's slowly, slowly with Matt," he told the club's official website. "It was probably wrong of us to say that he was going to be out for a couple of weeks because you can't really say with a groin injury." The Blues are unbeaten in their last four league matches, including most recently a three-match winning streak.
