Port Vale waiting on Rigino Cicilia

Rigino Cicilia is an injury doubt for Port Vale ahead of their home game against Rochdale.

Cicilia had to be substituted after only 11 minutes on Saturday and the 21-year-old was still being assessed on Monday. Should he miss out, the Valiants still have plenty of options up front with Anton Forrester, JJ Hooper, Alex Jones, Carlos Saleiro and Dan Turner ready to come into the team.

Ben Purkiss could return to the squad after the defender was omitted at the weekend, with boss Bruno Ribeiro having so far refused to reveal the reason why he was left out.

Full-backs Kiko (Achilles) and Adam Yates (anterior cruciate ligament) remain on the sidelines.

Rochdale boss Keith Hill could name an unchanged side after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.

Hill felt his team's performance merited all three points and he is likely to keep changes to a minimum.

Peter Vincenti, Matty Lund, Ollie Rathbone and Ruben Noble-Lazarus all remain sidelined through injury.

Hill's men have extra motivation to deliver a big performance after suffering a 4-1 defeat at Port Vale in April.
