Adams set to mix it up

Port Vale manager Micky Adams has hinted at changes to his starting line-up for the visit of neighbours Crewe.

After failing to score in the last two matches those changes could come in attack, with Jennison Myrie-Williams, Gavin Tomlin and Jordan Hugill all vying for recalls.

Adams also has options in midfield in the shape of Billy Knott, Louis Dodds and Chris Birchall.

Joe Davis is likely to line up against his brother Harry, also a centre-half, on Saturday against a Crewe side that is managed by their dad Steve.

Crewe have admitted on-loan forward Uche Ikpeazu remains a doubt.

Ikpeazu, borrowed from Watford, scored twice on his full debut but missed last weekend's 3-1 loss to Brentford because of an ankle injury, although the Alex are hopeful on his availability this time around.

Teenage forwards Max Clayton (ankle) and Ryan Colclough (stomach) are unlikely to be back in training until March while defender George Ray (ankle) will not be rushed back soon.
