Owen ruled out of Torquay trip

Central defender Gareth Owen has been ruled out having sustained a hamstring injury during Tuesday night's reverse against Chesterfield, but the injury is not as bad as first feared and the 27-year-old could be back in contention next weekend.[LNB]The Spireites defeat was Vale's second on the spin and Adams could be tempted to make changes, although he refused to be too downbeat following the spirited manner of the midweek defeat.[LNB]The Valiants boss made two changes from last Saturday's loss to Burton, with Lewis Haldane and Sean Rigg coming in for Rob Taylor and Louis Dodds.[LNB]And it remains to be seen where he will go from here as his charges look to close the nine-point gap that has opened up between Vale and those in the play-off places.[LNB][LNB]
