McCrory poised to make Vale bow

The versatile left-sided 19-year-old arrived on Monday on a one-month loan deal from Plymouth and will be hoping to make his second debut for the club having spent time at Vale Park last term. However, Micky Adams must decide whether to stick or twist with his starting XI as he looks to claim a double Sheffield scalp having seen his knock out city rivals United in the first round. The Vale boss made two changes for Saturday's 1-0 win over Darlington following his side's midweek defeat at Macclesfield, with wing-back Adam Yates and midfielder Louis Dodds coming in for Sam Stockley and Anthony Griffith. And it remains to be seen how Adams will line up this time around as he looks to book Vale's place in the third round and a possible money-spinning tie against the Premier League's elite. Simon Richman may also get a first run out of the season following a groin problem. Midfielder Malvin Kamara, who made 18 appearances for Vale back in 2007, and forward Lewis Haldane have both joined on trial and will be training with Adams' squad, but neither are eligible to feature.
