McCombe frustrated by dismissal
Vale were leading when referee Mick Russell awarded the Cobblers a 50th-minute penalty for McCombe's professional foul on Adebayo Akinfenwa, who converted the spot-kick.[LNB]"He got half a yard on me, so I tried to pull him back a little bit," McCombe told the Sentinel.[LNB]"I thought I was quite a few yards outside the area, but he's taken the ball inside and just fallen over. I did pull him back, but it wasn't a penalty.[LNB]"If I had stayed on the pitch and given a free-kick away, we would have gone on to win because we were the better team in the first half and deserved our lead.[LNB]"It's very frustrating.
