I won`t lose confidence - Richards

Port Vale striker Justin Richards refuses to lose confidence over his current barren spell in front of goal. The 29-year-old, a summer signing from Cheltenham, has struck a good understanding with strike partner Marc Richards since his arrival at Vale Park and duly bagged five goals in his first eight games for the club. But the net has failed to bulge since his strike in the 2-0 win at Bradford in early September - a goalless run of seven games. Marc has stepped up to the plate with five goals during that time yet Justin, who continues to aid the team and trouble defenders, is refusing to panic despite his disappointment. "I started the season well and picked up a few goals," he told The Sentinel. "And there's no reason why that can't happen again. "I can't get disheartened and dwell on the fact I haven't scored. I go into each game thinking I'm going to get a goal. If I didn't, there'd be no point my being out there. "So I've got to keep plugging away, get on the end of the chances and be a bit more ruthless. I'm disappointed not to have scored for a few games, but I'm not going to shy away from it."
