Horsfield ponders how to turn fortunes around

Port Vale caretaker manager Geoff Horsfield could ring the changes as he looks to end his side's three-match losing streak against an in-form Burton outfit, despite having no new injury or suspension problems. The Valiants have conceded eight goals and scored none in their last two matches, losing 3-0 and 5-0 to Gillingham and Rotherham respectively, sparking fears their promotion push could be derailed by former boss Micky Adams' departure. Robert Taylor, Kris Taylor, Lewis Haldane and Sean Rigg all have cases for being recalled after watching the club's biggest league defeat of the season against the Millers from the substitutes bench. Goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson will continue in goal despite receiving his marching orders 32 minutes into the defeat for a foul outside the area on Marcus Marshall. After analysing video footage of the incident, Horsfield has launched an appeal and is confident the decision will be overturned and no suspension will be served. However, if unsuccessful, Tomlinson will begin a three-match ban against Burnley in the FA Cup.
