Horsfield: No problems with Gannon
Geoff Horsfield insists he has no problem working with Jim Gannon as the pair look to put their differences to one side and guide Port Vale to promotion.
It is business as usual at Vale Park after assistant Horsfield returned to work earlier this week following a two-week investigation into his well-documented bus row with boss Gannon, which occurred on the way to the club`s League Two clash at Aldershot.
Valiants chairman Bill Bratt on Wednesday revealed the bust-up had been dealt with internally in an amicable manner, simply stating the duo were back to fulfilling the same roles.
And Horsfield is adamant there will be no problem between them, telling the Sentinel: "Of course I can work with Jim Gannon, and he's got to work with me, because I'm the assistant manager at least until the end of the season.
"I was brought here to help the club get promoted and I want to finish that job. It's not about me or Jim Gannon - it's about Port Vale and getting promoted. Me and the manager talk all the time, so we didn't need a clear-the-air chat because it all got sorted internally."
Horsfield, who was appointed by former manager Micky Adams, sees his current contract expire in the summer, and he added: "Until I'm told otherwise I'll keep doing my job. We'll have to see what happens then, but of course I want to stay at Vale because the club have been great to me and given me the chance to get on the coaching ladder."
