Grew set for tough baptism

Port Vale's caretaker-manager Mark Grew could make changes when he takes charge for the first time against Hereford. Grew, who took over from departed manager Jim Gannon on Monday, could be tempted to shuffle his pack following a run of three games without a win, which has seen the Valiants fall out of the play-off places. Goalkeeper Chris Martin dropped to the bench for Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Accrington, along with defender Lee Collins and on-loan forward Tom Pope. But all four will be hoping for recalls, as will midfielder Gary Roberts after being left out altogether by Gannon against Accrington. Striker Justin Richards could resume his partnership with namesake Marc Richards in attack following a number of substitute appearances, while midfielders Anthony Griffiths and Sean Rigg provide Grew with alternative options.
