The promotion-chasing Chairboys needed Lee Sawyer's goal 10 minutes from time to salvage a draw after Lee Collins had put Vale ahead.

The Vale board are coming under increasing pressure to sack Dean Glover, their third manager in under 18 months, as another disappointing season draws to a close.

But Glover said: "Whether I'm here or not isn't in my hands. What I do know is that was a decent performance against one of the top sides in the division.

"I was very pleased with what I saw and we've got some good young players. They are getting stronger all the time and that should bear fruit next season.

"We struggled a bit in the first-half when we had to frustrate Wycombe, but you could see the confidence of our players lift enormously after we went ahead."
