Gannon set to keep faith

Under-pressure Jim Gannon could name the same side for the trip to Wycombe as the one which clinched his first victory as Port Vale boss in midweek. Gannon lifted some of the clouds hanging over Vale Park, and indeed his appointment, with Tuesday`s impressive 1-0 triumph over Rotherham, but now he faces another of the club`s fellow promotion-chasers. On-loan forward James O`Shea was recalled in place of Gary Roberts and duly scored the game`s only goal with a stunning volley, while Gareth Owen and Doug Loft also came back in. Gannon kept faith with his highly-criticised 4-2-3-1 formation and may well do so again at Adams Park. Striker Tom Pope comes back into contention having been ineligible to face parent club Rotherham. Goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson (hip) will again be assessed, while striker and captain Marc Richards (thigh) is targeting the February 18 clash against Bradford for his return.
