Port Vale manager Jim Gannon was delighted with the performance of Tom Pope in his side's 2-1 win over Bradford. Vale eased into a 2-0 lead thanks to a second-half double from Pope before Tom Adeyemi reduced the deficit with six minutes remaining to set up a tense finish. Gannon said: "Tom Pope is a very good finisher and if we put the balls in there for him to attack he will always score goals. "He did brilliantly with his effort from Gary Roberts' cross in the first-half and he's kept persevering until he's got his goals. "There were a lot of signs that what we are doing on the training field is starting to pay dividends. "I was very pleased with a lot of what we did in the first-half. I thought we were the better team overall and the three points were well deserved."
