Decision looming for Port Vale
Former manager Dean Glover was informed back on May 1 he would not be in charge at Vale Park next season and the club's board have been identifying targets ever since.
A shortlist of six candidates will have been interviewed by the end of this week - with John Ward, Martin Ling and Micky Adams understood to be the favourites among those in contention.
Bratt says the wait for a new man in charge should be over next week.
"We do need to get the new manager announced as soon as possible. Hopefully that will help improve season ticket sales," he said in The Sentinel.
"We have drawn up the shortlist, will continue to interview this week and will hopefully come to a decision within the next week to 10 days. There are some interesting names there."
