Adams: We let the fans down
The visitors barely mustered a chance all night as Matthew Tipton and Hamza Bencherif secured the Silkmen's first win of the season.
Adams said: "We're disappointed with our efforts and feel we have let the fans down.
"We had great support here and it was all set up for a fantastic day but we lost the game in the first 20 minutes because of our tempo."
He added: "I'm not saying Macclesfield wanted it more than us but we simply never settled and after that we were playing catch-up all night and it's difficult to get back in the game when you go down so early."
