Adams unlikely to tinker against Alex

Adams watched his charges record an impressive 1-0 victory at promotion hopefuls Shrewsbury last weekend thanks to John McCombe's header on the stroke of half-time. And he is likely to keep faith with the same side, or make minimal changes, as he looks to take local bragging rights in front of a sell-out travelling support of 2,200 at Gresty Road. Rob Taylor is back to full fitness after a viral infection and fever that he admits "knocked me out pretty badly", despite making the bench at the Prostar Stadium last time out. Midfielders Doug Loft (calf) and Simon Richman (groin) and striker Geoff Horsfield (groin) all missed out last Saturday and are again injury doubts. Recent signings Jamie Guy and Jason Jarrett are likely to start from the bench once more, while third-choice goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston is back at Vale Park but unlikely to be involved following his unsuccessful trial with Manchester United.
